I started a document, then wordperfect froze up and now I can't do anything
with it, it is an important document and 6 pages long and I don't want to
lose it, but can't save it at this point. PLEASE HELP, I have already had to
retype this 2 times.
Thanks.

Don't know about WP 12. But under prior versions the default configuration
would save a backup copy of the active document every 10 minutes regardless
of whether you actively saved it. This file would be saved in the
WordPerfect\Backup folder as something like WP.bk1. If you shut down WP
properly the file would be deleted; if instead you shut down ungracefully -
eg. pull the plug on the computer while the document is open - then upon
restarting WP you would get a message asking whether you wanted to open the
backup file.

If possible, see if you can find the backup file and copy some place safe;
then pull the plug on the machine and restart. If the backup file exists,
it may not have everything you typed, but most of it should be there and WP
will be able to open it.

WordPerfect has a timed backup faeture built into it. If that's enabled, you
may have a backup that you can retrieve. If you've turned timed backup off,
and haven't saved the document yourself, you're out of luck.

It is always a good, when using WordPerfect or *any* application, to save
your work periodically. Typing six pages without doing a save is way too
much.
