Is it possible to remove or "hide" (any more than it already is!) wordpad
from Windows XP? If so, How would one be able to do it?

Why, what has wordpad done to you that makes you want to remove it? I'm
not sure but if you go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/Windows
Programs on the left.

You could:
-- Delete the .exe file, but then it'll never be usable again.
-- Rename it to something innocuous like wordpad.exe becomes MyList.biz.
Just be sure you remember what you renamed it to.
-- Relocate it so it's not findable to some obscure folder.
-- Delete it from All Programs/Applications etc.. Then the executable will
still exist if you want it later.

Use the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs Applet. WordPad is listed
under Windows Components > Accessories.
