word xp feezes pc trying to inserting image

While I am trying to insert an image or a textbox in Word Xp the pc just freezes.

Any idea what causes this (operating sys Win 2000Pro)?

I am wondering whether your Draw subsystem is installed properly.
Unfort I dunno how to test for this :-(
