Word will not recognize envelope feeder

One of the guys in our office recently got a new computer that is NOT
on our network. He's using XP, and I can't figure out how to make Word
recognize the envelope feeder on our printer. It's a Xerox 4400DT, if
that matters. I tried to go to the configuration tab and add the
optional equipment, but the envelope feeder isn't an option.

I don't know much about computers, so I apologize if this is
elementary. I tried to search around and couldn't find the answer. If
anyone knows, I would appreciate it!

It seems to me that this would be an option in the printer driver. If
the driver doesn't have that option, maybe you don't have the correct
or most up-to-date driver for your printer?

I would expect that support to be provided by the printer driver. Did your
guy install the Windows XP drivers that came with the printer or allow
Windows XP to install minimum support drivers for the Xerox 4400DT. I would
also check with Xerox for the latest Windows XP compatible drivers.

If you still have a problem, try posting to
microsoft.public.word.application.errors newsgroup.
