Word template help

i am using the "cookbook" template i downloaded from microsoft.com and i
wanted to create a new document using a similar background design. It is a
greenish color page with an orange strip down the right side. it doesn't
appear to be a theme or a background and i can't seem to get the same type of
effect on my new document. Does anyone know how to do this?
 
Probably graphics anchored to the header.

What does that mean and how does that help? I'm using that template also and
am having great difficulty with it.

View | Header and Footer. Can you click on the graphic?

What she means is that when you have the header and footer view open, can
you click on the graphic and select it?
