Word - subsequential numbering of a single document

HI i recently posted the message below and thank you to the person who answered - i am afraid i am just not that good with pc's!!! is there anyone out there who can help me and explain in simple terms i.e. step by step how to do this!!!! sorry to be a pain it is just i am a teeny bit desperate as i need it for work any help would be appreciated! here is the original memo:

Hi I have created a form in word and have a number that I
want to increase by one everytime I open up the form to
create a new document - would this be a type of macro???

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this would be a type of macro, and I believe you were pointed to an
article that provides the macro
