Word Shutdown

When I first start word and click on file the screen goes white and takes about a minute to open. Cutting and pasting causes word shutdown and auto restarts result in immediate shutdowns. This only happens when I am on line. Firewall setings have no effect.

When I am signed out of the internet and the firewall is set to block traffic this does not happen.

Sorry for the first "terse" posting. I try not be wordy.

Hokay, I wonder whether Normal is being bitchy here over something
once loaded and loved, but now forgot. Try renaming normal.dot and see
if that fixes it.
