Word saves files with the wrong date

Hi all,

I have a strange problem on my hands. Since few days the computer of
one of my colleges started saving files with the date of 1.1.1985.

After checking the BIOS clock and the windows clock I am out of ideas.
Does anyone got an idea how I could tackle the problem?

That suggests the need for a new CMOS battery.
