All the other windows products have a word processor. 95
98 2000 etc. I can't find the word in XP? Is there not
one loaded in and if not why the change?? thanks.

try looking for word perfect. thats what came with
mine. if u have an xp it should have it. i think.

XP (short of OEM PC mfg install) does not come with a word processor, other
than notepad and wordpad. WordPerfect is a well known competitor to MS
Word. There's no way, in Hell, that MS would include that in an OS short of
a court order.

Start menu/programs/accessories/notepad or wordpad

Greetings --

No version of Windows has _ever_ included a word processing
application. The closest thing to a word processor would be WordPad,
which is really little more than a slightly enhanced text editor.

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

There was no "word processor" provided in the Windows products 98 or
2000, or in XP. They provide "little" things like Notepad (text editor)
and Word Pad (a very rudimentary program that can edit, format, store,
and print documents ... which may be all you need).

If you need more, need to buy something (Word, Word Perfect, etc.) or
use one of the free ones available on Internet, e.g. Open Office.

No version of Windows came with a Word Processor. They do come with Text
Editors ( Notepad & Wordpad ). These do not offer all the features of a
Wordprocessor such as Full Formatting.

If you want a QWord Processor. you need to either purchase one like MS
word ( Also part of MS Office ) or Word Perfect from Corel. Or, download
one of the free ones like Open Office or 602Software.

If Word Perfect came with your machine. It's part of a bundle that your
Vendor provided. Word Prefect is not part of any Windows version. It's alo
not an Microsoft product. It's made by Corel now.
