Can I uninstall WordPerfect and install Microsoft Word if
I have a Windows 98 disk ?

Word is not part of Windows. It is a separate software application that
must be purchased separately from Windows.

Unless you are running out of hard disk space (unlikely with today's
humongous disks) you don't need to uninstall WordPerfect to install MS Word
or any other word processor. In fact, there are some (including me) who
believe that WordPerfect is a better word processor (although I have and use
both). If you don't like WordPerfect, but don't want to spend any more
money, check out http://www.openoffice.org/ which is a free "office suite,"
that includes a word processor (like MS Word), a spreadsheet app (like MS
Excel), and a presentation app (like MS PowerPoint).

Oh, yes: your Windows 98 disk has nothing to do with MS Word (unless you
are talking about a disk with the label "Microsoft Office" or "Microsoft
Word" that you got at the time you had Win98).

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking but it has nothing
to do with having a Windows 98 disk. You can install Word if you
have a copy of Word to install. Word comes either by itself, as
part of Microsoft Office, or as part of Microsoft Works Suite (it
is not part of Windows 98, if that's what you meant).

By the way, whether or not you uninstall WordPerfect is
irrelevant. You can have either installed, neither, or both.
