When I try to open up a Word document it takes about 12 seconds to open up. And then when I close it - it takes about 8 seconds. I am using Word 2000. Why is it taking so long? Please help. Thanks.
Probably the action of a virus checker (or other errant add-in). If you are
running Norton AV, turn off its Office plug-in. Check what add-ins you are
loading, and look at the housekeeping measures recommended at http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm
