I've made a relatively simple form in Word.
The first section is protected, because I want people to only fill in
the designated 'blanks'.
But in the 2nd section should contain a report, so this area are left
unprotected.
So far, so good.

However:
There's also a list, that can be as long as need be.
So, tabbing should add news rows. But this means, the list has to be
UNprotected.
The heading of the list, though, should be in a PROTECTED section.
I want the heading to be protected, because I don't want people to be
able to edit it.

But:
If I put ONLY the heading in a protected section, this means I can't
keep the heading and the first line in the list together. And I
definitely want that.
But to be able to do that, heading and the rest of the list should be
in the same section.

I tried making a text box, but this wasn't ideal either. What happened
was that if I deleted the first line of the list, it made the text box
go as well! (which was strange, because I didn't select it).

Any bright ideas?

Try this: Format the heading, at the end of the protected section, as "Page
break before" (Paragraph dialog box); that way, it will always appear at the
top of a page. Then make sure that the following section is "Continuous,"
not "Next page." You can change the type of section in the Page Setup dialog
box.
