Word files will not open

I have updated my Windows XP Home operating system. The latest was Pak3. Now
I can not open any word documents. It tells me the file is not available.
Help!

Kathy, Help us our a bit. There has been not Pak3. Latest is Service Pack 2.
What version of Word?

I think Kathy means Service Pack 3 for Office 2000 ;-)
 
Sorry it is pak 2 and I have Word 2000. I'm not sure loading pak 2 has
anthing to do with it.
