Word & Excel Problems

Anyone ever had Microsoft Word 2003 & Excel lockup problems? I can open the programs or existing files, but am not able to type any text. I have a curser and can indent, add margins, center, etc. Just no typing (numbers, letters, etc.). In existing files, I can delete and stuff, but again, no text typing of any kind. I've been on the phone w/ Dell tech support for hours, but no luck

Any suggestions would be appreciated

should have an answer for you.

The behaviour of Word and Excel has been reported by others and the
cause seems to be a computer virus. Check out your machine.
