New version of Word does not allow editing of embedded spreadsheet. How does one edit embedded spreadsheets? "User does not have access" is all that happens

version of Word and of Windows that's involved. You should also quote the EXACT text
of the error message you're getting; the one you mention above does not sound
familiar, but seems to indicate a permissions problem with Excel.
Have you installed any Office updates recently? And is the Norton Antivirus Office
addin loaded? Try deactivating that and see if it makes a difference.
