word document will not save to disk or usb

I have tried to save work on a word documents but when i click to save
nothing happens but the window will not close down till i have clicked No the
save. I have tried to save on other applications and they all work, have i
clicked on something that will not allow me to save in word, i am working on
window XP and microsoft office 2003 proffessional

Are you trying to save to removable media? You should _not_ do this from
within Word. Word scrambles files on removable media and sometimes unformats
a floppy drive. Within Word you should act as if your removable media drives
do not exist!

Otherwise, can you edit your document?
