I open the word document I saved from the e-mail and none of the columns and rows are right. But when I open it up at work they are all right. What setting needs to change so that all the row heights are correct?

Thanks for your help

Try selecting on your computer at home the printer that is on your work computer. You don't need a real printer to pretend to windows that you have one.

Apart from that wild guess we need far more info to attempt a diagnosis. Versions, what's wrong with row heights. Also check paper size.

Wow, What a wild guess. Lets try again. I have MS Works 6.0 word processor. I try to open documents created in MS Word .doc when it tries to open in in the default .wps program or note pad. Note pad does not have rows and colums so it dosn't know what to do with them. MS Works has rows and colums as a format but does not know how high the rows should be. As a result, the rows are so low you cannot even see the text without adjusting each one to make them taller. Then the text appears. There should be a default I can adjust somewhere under page set up or tools but I cannot find it..

Thanks alot for your help

You are better off asking in the works group. Works is basic home user product, Word is advanced and used corporately. It not common that people use both.

Most expierenced users know almost nothing about works.

I can tell you about MS Word defaults

1. Open Wor
2. Click Format, then Fon
3. Make necessary change
4. Push Default button on the botto

The same can be dome with Character Spacing and Text Effects tabs
Word from Works should be governed by similar principals..

Now about your home/work dilemm
Depending on your needs you could

a. Ask you Admin for a copy of MS Offic
b. Save files in Word or Works format - Just select desired format from Save As Type dropdown of Save As dialog box
c. Keep you files in WordPad or Notepad format (I like Notepad
