Word Document Printing Problems.

I have a Word Document (there may be more than one) that was generated over a
year ago using Microsoft Office 2000 and the Windows Me operating system. I
am still using Microsoft Office 2000 but with a Windows XP operating system.
When I click on the document icon (it's been over a year since I had to make
changes to this document), the document appears but when I click on Print
Preview, nothing shows. Clicking on Print gives me a blank sheet.
I copied the document to a floppy and downloaded the document to my
daughter's work computer that uses Microsoft Office 2003 and has the Windows
XP Professional operating system. The document appears in Print Preview and
prints as it should.
What do I need to do to my system to allow me to edit and print this
document and probably several more.
