word document issue

i have a reusme creted in word 2003 whenever i send my file as at attchement
to someone some of them say that its a DAT file, what could be the problem
and how do i resolve it?

What email client are you using? Exactly how do you attach the Word
file to the email message? Do you know what email client the recipient
with the problem is using?

For the heck of it zip up the file and add it as a real attachment and
see what happens.
