Word document has grayed out section down the side of paper, but .

My Word document that I have saved, when I open it, there is a grayed out
section along the right hand side of it, all the way down my paper. I can't
enter in this, or delete it.

I have my view set as the Print Layout view, and when I open a new document,
this is the correct view. When I open my saved document, it puts that grayed
out space on my paper again.

I have copied and pasted my information into a new document, but the section
on the right hand side shows again. How do I remove this? Why is this
happening?

Also, I am unable to send documents by email. That option is grayed out.
Any ideas how to change that?
 
Does the document contain markup (tracked changes or comments)? If so, Word
is allowing margin space for the "balloons."
