I have FP 2003 as well as Word 2003. I have a frames page with a
banner, toc, and main contents page (the default in frames setup). I
can't seem to be able to have a word document open in the main frames
page. It works for a pdf file but when I set the parameters for a word
document, including setting it to open in the main frames page, it
still opens full screen in word? What am I doing wrong?

FYI
A word .doc can be opened in a frame (since it is a window), or can even be the default page in a frame set
Only problem is for users w/o Word, or have their security set to prompt them before opening Word files in browser

| Hi JP,
|
| A word doc must be contain in either an Iframe or used in the browser as a whole. To accomplish have the frame include an iframe.

Check the target for the hyperlink to the .doc file (or the default target for the frame) to make sure it is set to the name of the
frame (usually main by default), and not set to _blank or _top

I put an iframe on a blank page, set the parameters including target
frame to main. Still no luck. The documents opens full-screen in Word
itself - not in the browser. So I'm doing something wrong, but what I
don't know.

You must assign a name to the IFrame, and then use that name as the target value for the hyperlink.
