Word Creating shortcuts in root

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a weird
problem i've been having with Office XP. One of my user's
tries to open a Word file on a network mapped drive and
each time she does so, it creates a shortcut to the
network folder and the document itself in the root of her
c drive. Kind of weird. I reinstalled Office XP,
installed the service packs with the same results.

Anyone have any suggestions, is there some sort of
setting that I might be missing?

Any help would be appreciated.
