Word as email editor fails when saved to draft

I use Word as my email editor. It works well all the time, except when I save
an email to draft. When I return and re-open the draft email, it comes up
with the message:
"Microsoft Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is
unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The
Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead."
I am running Office Pro 2003 (on a Tablet PC) so both versions are the same.
The only way I can resolve the problem is to repair my Office installation.
Any other suggestions?
 
How do you know a repair will solve the problem?
If it will then do it. A repair is usually trouble-free.
