Dear all,

I use WIN XP Professional and Office 2003. Some programs like Word eat up
all available RAM. E.g. Word with a simple two-page document open blocks 221
320 KB and with two such documents open more than 400 000 KB. What is wrong
with the memory management?

Thanks for any help!

Something does appear to be amiss. When I launch Word 2003 it uses
about 51,000 KB (no document open), and a simple 3 page list increases
this to about 64,000 KB.

I think you should insert your Office 2003 CD and have the install
program to a repair of your existing install. Then go to
http://officeupdate.microsoft.com and make sure you have all of the
service packs and updates installed.

If that does not resolve the problem then you should probably post
your question to a newsgroup that deals with Microsoft Office, such as
one in the microsoft.public.office group.

Good luck
