When I save a document in an old pc with Word 97, it automatically adds some
odd characters (bjtl+++, etc.) on the first line, then it makes a long list
of the document formatting after the end of the document--i.e.
normal
normal
times new roman
times new roman
etc.
I have looked through all the options for saving the document and cannot
find any that seem to address this issue. Does anyone have an idea what is
going on with Word 97 on this pc? The computer did not have another Word
version or Works program on it prior to Word 97, yet it still asks if I want
to save the document as a Word document (though that is the default in the
saving options). Help!
