I have 5 computers in my office. If I purchase the word 2003 program is there a limitation on how many computers I can load the program on.

Yes, there is a limit. What the limit is depends on which license you get. I
believe the current retail license allows installation on one desktop
computer and one laptop but could be mistaken. Check the Microsoft website.

If you just got your computers, you may want to check with the seller to see
if you can get a bundled version of Office. Otherwise, the least-expensive
way to get just Word these days is as a part of the Microsoft Works Suite.

Hi Rusti

Yes, there is a limit. Depending on how you buy it, the license terms allow
you to load one copy on only one computer, or on one desktop and one laptop
as long as they aren't used simultaneously. There's no way you can legally
run a 5-computer office on one copy.

If you're only interested in Word out of all the Office applications, look
into buying Works Suite. That includes the same Word version that's in
Office, plus some other stuff you may or may not use, and it's often cheaper
than buying Word by itself.

Another option is to look at a volume license such as Open License Value,
which has a 5-seat minimum but gives you some extras, such as spreading the
cost over time.
