word 2003

I installed office 2003 Basic. Everything works except Word. It will not
open. I can open it with the /a switch. Then when I get out, it will not
open without using the switch again. What do I need to do?

Try a Word or Office group for better answers. If Normal.dot is
damaged, that will prevent Word from opening. Delete that file and let
it be recreated when needed.
 
I tried removing normal.com but it done the same thing. I ended up removing
all of Office 2003 files I could find. Then reinstalled Office 95, upgraded
to 97 & 2000 and then reinstalled 2003. Everything worked. It must have a
hidden file somewhere having a conflict with Word 2003. Thanks for the info,
it got me started in the right way.
