Word 2002 Header/Footer

These are the steps I follow... Instert>AutoText>Header/Footer>Then this part
is blank...there are no options for Header or Footer...infact every menu
option I select under Auto Text come ups blank.

I have tried to repair...no luck...reinstall...no luck.

Any advise?

It would be helpful if you stated what it is that you are trying to do.

But, I'll go under the assumption that you are attempting to insert a
Header/Footer into a Word document.

If THAT assumption is correct -- and you are working with a version of Word
up to and including Word 2003 -- it's done by clicking on View | Header and
Footer.

Yes, I am trying to insert a header/footer. I know how to insert the problem
is that the option to do so is not there.

These are the steps I follow... Instert>AutoText>Header/Footer> There
is ono option to insert after that, the drop down menu is blank.

I am trying to find out why the drop down menu is blank....even after I have
reinstalled.

Maybe we're misunderstanding each other.

What _I'M_ suggesting is that for you to insert information into a
Header/Footer, you first need to create one before using any options in the
Autotext dialog box.

To initially create a Header/Footer, you should first click on the View
option in the Title Bar. Then, from the drop-down menu, click on the Header
and Footer selection. This will show you a dotted outline of the Header into
which you can THEN click on any of the Autotext selections to insert the
appropriate fields that are available.

Please let me know if I'm not correctly understanding what you are
attempting to accomplish.

My advice is to ask folks in a group with WORD or OFFICE in it's tile.
I also advise you to notice THIS group LACKS those words.
