Word 2000 link to Outlook 2003 doesn't work

I have Office 2000 (SP3) with a copy of Outlook 2003 from SBS installed on
the client computers. The problem is that when the user in Word 2000 clicks
on File-SendTo-Mail Recipient (as attachment), an error message pops up that
states "Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure: "Unspecified error".
How can I make this link work with Outlook 2003 and Word 2000?

You probably can't. The version of Word will have to match the version of
Outlook.
