We're running Outlook 2003 with Word 2000. Since we made the switch to
Outlook 2003 we can no longer use Word as the email editor. Does anyone know
of a work around for this?

Any help is truly appriciated.

Thanks,

There isn't AFAIK - the two have to be the same version.

All Office automation (send to, using Word as the mail message editor, mail
merges, etc.) requires that all of Office be at the same level. Either
return to Outlook 2000 or upgrade the rest of Office to 2003.

Does anyone know of a Microsoft Doc/article/whitepaper which notes the
incompatibility issues when using Outlook 2003 and Office 2000? I have a
client I am attmepting to dissuade from implementing this configuration. :o)

Thanks,
Wendi

I'm sure there must be something in the MSKB.

Hey - Microsoft - it would have ben REALLY NICE to know that BEFORE I
installed the Outlook 2003 virus processor and broke all of my AutoCorrect
and Custom.dic setup!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the world leader in secure messaging *I* go ... yay Novell GroupWise!!

Frustrated in Canada

And the really silly thing is that my auto correct feature WAS working for
awhile and then stopped ... seems it was the last time I did a Windows/Ofice
update online. Hrrrmmms ... is Microsoft FORCING us to upgrade by
deliberatele breaking things? Wouldn't surprise me at all <shakes head>.

autocorrect and spell check should still work. Did you try a repair?

Did you read the readme's and other documentation before installing it? Or
Google to see if there were any problems using mixed versions? It's well
documented in the installation documentation and at other websites.

Yes I did a repair, no they do not still work although, as I said, the REALLY
bizarre thing is that they did when I first put O 2003 on the box ???
