Word 2000 Conversion Issues

I created a big Word document (14MB) using MS Word 2000 on my company Windows
2000 Professional operating system. The problem that I have is that when I
or other members of my project team attempt to open this document using MS
Word 2002 or 2003 on a Windows XP operating system, the document and the
application crashes.

There are times when the document will paginate to the end, and there are
other times when it stops after a few pages and fails to respond.
Nonetheless, I cannot use the document once I have attempted to open it, and
I must therefore create a distilled PDF from my computer for the rest of my
team to view it.

Has anyone ever had this problem, and if so, what solution do you suggest?

You have document corruption and need to Maggie your document: copy
and paste everything except the last paragraph mark in each section to
a new document.

Help opening can also be had by right-clicking the file and selecting
New.
