Hi all,

Just had a server upgrade this week and all computers were upgraded
from Outlook 2000 to 2003. There is a folder in public folders that
contains 1700+ items that essentially store an embedded Word document.
It also opens using a custom form that has "Always use Microsoft Word
to edit e-mail messages" checked.

Here's the issue...

When these items are opened in Outlook 2000, they all open fine.
However, in Outlook 2003, about half of these items open without any
data in the wordeditor control. What's even more puzzling is that
these items that open with no data are actually > 80KB in size which
means that there is data in them, it's just that we can't see it. If i
terminate the Winword.exe process in the task manager and open a
previously empty item, the data re-appears, except, it's in HTML
format.

What puzzles me is that this is only occuring in half of the items of
this folder. It doesn't look as though Word 2000 and Outlook 2003 is
causing a major conflict because other folders containing embedded
documents still work.

I'm really confused and very much at a loss... any suggestions will be
greatly appreciated.

problem fixed by re-creating the items and copying and pasting the
data in message control into those new items... i guess the embedded
word message in those items were corrupted...
