wont save password in outlook

The boys MOM

I have the new Vista operating system, but have Office Xp on my computer,
when I set up my Microsoft Outlook, it will not keep my password even tough I
put it in the correct place to save it, why will this not keep the password.

Office 2003 and 2007 are the only fully supported versions on Windows Vista.
