Won't re-boot after installing SP4

My machine gets to the Win 2000 Pro screen, but
the "starting up" blue band only gets about 2/3 way.
System stops. Was able to start in safe mode but no
further success.

Any Ideas ?

if you can boot in safmode look in the systemlog and see what causes the
problem

Boot back into safemode, and roll back to SP3
