MY WINDOWS UPDATES DOWNLOADS BUT WILL NOT INSTALL...HELP

Please (in the future) refrain from using all upper case letters to post.
It is (at the very least) difficult to read.
It can be (by some) considers shouting.

- How are you attempting to install the updates?
- Which updates are you trying to install?
- What error(s) do you get (word for word, please)?
- What OS/version are you running (Windows XP Home, Professional, Tablet PC,
Media Center or x64)?
- Which Internet Explorer are you running? (6.0 or 7.0?)
 
i am running xp.....internet explorer 6.0..trying to install windows updates
on express ( i think) sorry for the caps......thanks for your time
