wmv movie won't play in Powerpoint 2003

I use Powerpoint 2003 on XP with service pack 2 and it won't play inserted
wmv movies. My wife has a laptop with the same config (although I don't know
whether she has SP2 installed) and it works beautifully there...

You will want to read the "PPT and Multimedia" tutorial.

settings are correct as described there, and your file plays in mplay32.exe,
