I left my computer idle for about an hour, with WMP open but not
running. i returned and noticed that some program was using about
90percent of my processing power. I checked and found that it was a
program called wmpenc. i did a search and found that it was part of
WMP. (version 10 btw in windows XP) So i closed WMP. when closing
the program it prompted me that WMP was "converting files in the
background" and asked if i wanted to continue.
i shut it off immediately and havent opened it sense. that the heck
was going on here? i didn't ask it to convert anything! What was it
doing to my files?
