Dear Helpers
As soon as i switch on my pc, wmp comes on automatically.
I have had the player for two years now and has started to do this in the
last few months.
This is what happens.
1. switch on
2. desktop appears.
3. timer comes on.
4. goes straight to wmp.
Has anybody any advice on how to disable it.
Cheers
tex.

Yep this should work :D

Go to start and then to run ...type 'msconfig' and then hit ok
accross the top of the msconfig box you will see some tabs , go to the
'startup' tab
and look down the list for the entry relating to wmp and untick its box ,
click ok then restart the pc , and it should show up again :D.

Let me know if this worked:D

cheers

Dear tai19
I did as you said but when i got to the start up section it had no reference
to the media player, unless i cannot identify it because of the way the list
is written,(computer jargon)
all the same thankyou for your response

What was he on about?

the end.
Great help

what it was all about is that he had the same post posted earlier in the day. His issue is in 2 different places on this newsgroup.
No need to post this 2 times in 2 different places.
