This error is driving me over the edge. My power supply went out on
computer, added new memory along with new power supply. Ever since i get
this wmaud page fault error. I was told to upgrade NVDIA video driver and
then it got worse(error use to come up about 2 a week now it's every day).
Can anyone tell me where else to look. Supposedly this was a known issue
and fixed in windows xp service pack - haha.
PLEASE HELP

It seems it changes but i know this is one of the errors STOP 0x0000008E
wmaud sys. (I found this error on Microsoft web site ). I will post the
others i have written down.
Thanks for your help

Are you running WinXP SP2?

The error references WMAUD.SYS, not WMDAUD.SYS?

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn't
catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which
sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

Sounds like there may be a compatibility problem with the new memory module,
or the original module may have been damaged during the power fault.
