Here are some to look at. <snip>

Audio Converter

I'm baffled by this page. It says the program is shareware, then says it's
freeware. Also the screenshot does not load (tried it with three browsers).
This does not inspire confidence.

Hello,
Is there a free one of the above? All I seem to find are
shareware ones.

I always see the need to note: There is no known way to convert
..wma files with DRM, which you may bought, downloaded or
produced yourself (because of wrong encoder settings).

You only can record while playing these files. What is the best
free tool for such a task?

Thorsten

I use CDex http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

A faster way is to write the protected WMA files to a CD as "audio" then
rip/encode from that disc to MP3. Use a CD-RW so it can be re-used.

the fastest way I know is off topic (TuneBite), and not all
files can be burned to audio because of DRM restrictions.
Recording with something like the recorder from CDex (which
Frank suggested) is of course always working, but a tool
with a bit more luxury would be cool. Burning and ripping
at least gives you originally cutted tracks automatically.
And with CD-TEXT support maybe naming of tracks is possible
too. But the same without CD-R indirection would be cool.

Don't get me wrong, I just wanted to answer the original post
and also I'm curious about this topic. I for myself found my
solution (see above), but that's off topic...
