I had a working wireless Lan setup on my laptop and
attempted to replace the router and PC card with a
new "G" version. The old "B" cards worked with the new
router, but the new card would not accept the DHCP
address from the router. After reinstalling it a couple
times, I tried static IP addresses anc could pink the
router, but not the Internet. I reverted back to an
earlier system restore and the older cards wtill worked.
Unfortunately, the new pccard stamped a system restore
for each of its components and the "good" file
disappeared. Now, I'm locked out with both cards. THere
must be something in the registry that is corrupting the
TCPIP layer. Is there a procedure where I can remove
the networking hooks from the reg, clean it and reinstall
networking without reinstalling Windows, or can anyone
suggest why I'm locked out? The router works fine with
its wired connects.
