Withdraw from a domain

Have left a company where I was connected to their LAN.
Now am working alone and have a laptop that is loaded
with network names, domains, administrator rules, etc.

Is there an easy way to 'reverse' out of the network? Can
I restore my system to a date before joining?

I just want to have a single user laptop.

I have tried Help, etc and have had no luck in finding
instructions to leave, quit, resign from, etc. - a domain.

Any help would be appreciated. Can usually get through
most technical problems from readme's. et al

You need to log in with the local Administrator account,
then r-click 'my computer' | properties;
Network Identification tab.

But think carefully first.

After leaving the domain and joining a workgroup, you will no longer be able
to log on as your domain username.
This will cause you to loose access to the files in your old 'my documents'
folder.
You will need to 'take ownership' of these under your new local logon.
If you have used EFS to encrypt any folders, then be sure to export the
encryption keys first.
