With a PPS (2000 SR1) called from an HTML - can't exit with ESC

Very perplexing. Everything I read thru Google suggests using the ESC to
exit the show I provide (to be done via a CD). However, the ESC just
error-sounds/boink and the only way to exit is to X out the window. This, of
course, ends the entire HTML session.

Can someone help?

ESC ends a PowerPoint show viewed in PowerPoint or the viewer. It behaves
differently in a browser.

Try creating a button with an End Show action setting on the last slide. See
if that helps.
