wireless settings cache???

I've got a weird problem happening with my notebook users. For some reason,
XP caches their TCP/IP settings for their wireless connections. An
ipconfig/all reveals settings for the past location. This may seem like "a
good thing" but we have multiple offices that have access points. Each office
has its own settings and then there's the users who use their notebooks at
home, wirelessly too. All adapters are set for dynamic configuration but XP
keeps these settings even when the notebook is properly shut down or
restarted. A manual release/renew is the only thing that straightens this
out. This problem just recently started popping up alot. All have service
pack 2 and have had it since november or so. That's why I feel it might be a
post-sp2 fix that causes this. Anyone know a solution or experiencing
something similar?

I don't have an answer for you (but I'm sure someone else will), but
with all those configurations, maybe your users would be better off
using third-party network switching software. The ones I've looked at
are very inexpensive and reportedly work well. Here are some links:

http://www.netswitcher.com - NetSwitcher
http://www.globesoft.com/mnm_home.html - MultiNetwork Manager
http://www.mobilenetswitch.com - Mobile Net Switch

I don't know if those programs work with wireless configurations, but
the netswitcher type software might be an area to research.

Good luck,

Malke
