wireless router firewall questions

Hello,
I am running xppro sp2 and latest patches.

I have just upgraded my ISP download speed and installed a wireless adsl
router so I am on new ground here and would like some advice please.

My question is to do with the firewall, more specifically Norton
Internet Security's firewall.

Do I need to keep the Norton firewall running or can I safely uninstall
it and just use that on the Netgear dg834gt?

Is there any advantage in keeping both firewalls running?

I read the article thanks for that.
So there is an advantage to running both the norton software firewall
and the netgear hardware firewall, for all computers in the home network.
This helps prevent the spread of viruses or worms across the network if
a computer is infected.

Yes it is wise to run a software firewall in addition to the hardware one.

I'm not sure that "need" is the appropriate word, but yes there's
an advantage to also running a third-party software firewall.
Unlike the hardware firewall, it also monitors outgoing traffic,
stopping, for example, any rogue programs trying to call home.
