I have a Dell Laptop with Windows XP. I want to access
the internet by wireless technology and have purchased a
Bluetooth USB Adapter. I learned that it is not
compatable with the Linksys Wireless Router, which I have
in my home. I can buy a Linksys USB Adapter (WUSB 11 or
WUSB 54G). While the Linksys product will help solve the
home computer problem , what is the best product for use
with wireless systems in hotels and other public places?

While Wireless 802.11b technology is the most popular, wireless 802.11G is
faster
and more reliable, 802.11G is still new in its technology, so most
"Hotspots" will be running 802.11b instead of G, therefor 802.11b would be
the way to go for public access, you can buy A trimode cardbus adapter if you
have a cadbus bay, the dlink DWl AG 660 will cover all wireless A, B, and G
all with one card

Hi,

Bluetooth is a PAN technology that is designed to interconnect mobiles
with printers and suchlike. It is very short range and low bandwidth, so
it is not used for inter-pc networking. The Linksys product is a 802.11g
Wifi adapter, which is backwards compatiable with 802.11b. Most hotspots
will be running with one of these two standards - the competing
standard, 802.11a, never really got off the ground. This means that the
Linksys (or equivalent 802.11g adapter) is the product to choose.
