I've installed a USB wireless network card, hardware is
running ok per device manager. (Works ok on another
computer).

When I open Network Connections, Wireless network
connection, all I see is the general and advanced tabs.

The 'Wireless Networks' tab is missing.

How do I get it back? I need to input the various
parameters for my access point (SSID, channel) etc.

Thanks,

Doug

Greetings Doug,

Click Start, Run, and type "services.msc". Open services
and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration Service,
Start the service and set it to automatic.

Thanks for the suggestion, but ... no entry in services
list. Now going through registry to see why not. More
suggestions?

Doug

run regedit and find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC

add a DWORD entry named "Start" and
value "2"

Thanks, AOK now. Also had to add the WZCSV key... no idea
how it went away.

Thanks much all.

Happy New Year
