wireless networking?

I am wanting to connect this computer with another
computer in my house so that both can run off the same
cable connection. Can you tell me what exactly i need to
buy for this to happen?

I have a linksys router/switch/wireless hub (about $70). You connect
the cable modem to the uplink position of the hub. You can then run
either a wired connection to your ethernet card or put a wireless card
in the computer (about $50). Prices have dropped on the faster
wireless, so you may want to go with that. (802g instead of 802b or
whatever it is.)
