So, I have a Buffalo WGR54 Wireless Router and a Toshiba Laptop with a
built in 802.11b function and a desktop with Linksys USB wireless.
Anyway, everything was cool for a while. The desktop is still cool and
works great, the laptop not so much. It no longer sees any available
networks. My network is in the Preferred Network box with a blue
circle around the antenna icon but never makes the jump into the
available network box. I assume that the blue circle means that the
laptop can see the network, why would it think it is unavailable?

Does this happen AFTER you have powered up the laptop? I have a similar problem with an older laptop using a D-link card. When I power up, it finds the network but won't connect. The meter usually shows a 2mps connection. Once it detects the network, I power down and back up to connect. I have used this laptop on up to 4 networks in a day and it is the same each time it detects the network I near at the time. Ironically, this also happens with a Microsoft card... same scenario. So.... now I carry my new Dell Ispiron with integrated net card and hook up to any available is a snap!
