I have just acquired a new laptop with built in Intel
(Centrino) WiFi. I have an 802.11b setup with Netgear AP
(ME102) that has been (and still is) working fine with
various laptops using Netgear MA401 cards.

After much messing around I have finally persuaded the
Intel chipset to talk to the AP and can now access the
internet etc. but after operating nicely for 10 minutes
the connection goes down. A simple reconnect works and
starts it up again for another ten minutes.

The Windows Event Log shows a Security Audit Fail with
category "Policy Change" Event "615". I can't find a list
of what these mean on the MS website. can anybody either
enlighten me as to their meaning or point me at the url
for a definitive list?

Thanks in anticipation,

Rob

The above URL has the list, but it is truly not informative. Click the
embedded link User Rights at the top of the page. I'm wondering if WPA
is invoked on the router and the wifi is not, or the wifi is failing to
re-authenticate?
